Natalie Morales Sweater

CLOSED FOR HOLIDAY

After several months of uninterrupted broadcasts through Radio Umbria, 'Armageddon Echos' takes a break until the arrival of summer. Irregular dripping of emissions due to various personal setbacks in recent weeks have precipitated this break.

The next June emissions back to the network with some new and needed recharging voltaic to continue the process of perversion and corruption that is voluntarily submitted each week, though exquisite limited-audience of followers of colorful styles that dot every nook and cranny of the program.

From the ashes of liars
Grow the flowers of hope
From the steeples and spires
Hang each tear from a rope

Moved to speak?
You made your choice
We had our chance
And lost our voice

-RECOMMENDATION OF THE WEEK:

VV. AA. - 'Wave Romantics - Dark Ballads & Underground Rock Classics' (1996)

Although little or nothing to do with the styles that often sound in Armageddon Echos, this strange collection of the German label Facedown dark electronic released some years ago has a certain charm, perhaps by the whimsical, eclectic and engaging selection of cuts.

Throughout the two-disc album Featured groups will walk the scene more or less dark for 80 and 90. Ballads performed by bands as diverse as New Model Army, The Cult, Ultravox, Das Ich and even Heroes del Silencio (¿?). Although the apparent randomness of the tracklist says little of the publishing house, some of the items are really essential.

Death in June - 'The World that Summer '(1986)

few months ago NER rescued in a luxurious edition of this album recorded between 1985 and 1986. While 'The World That Summer' not reach the level of subsequent works, yes it is an unbeatable ticket to enter the world of Death in June . Has the particularity to be quite heterogeneous, in contrast to more compact work as folkie 'Rose Clouds of Holocaust' or post-punk aroma its inception.

Death in June - 'Come Before Christ and Murder Love' [tribute video]

tandem compositional richness Pearce-Tibet and the eclectic influences of both of them to compose a solid job that will alternately delight and true 'Break the Black Ice' or ' Torture by Roses' with other experimental cuts, while maintaining the industrial and oppressive atmosphere that characterizes them. The implementation of the various courts, that is a constant throughout the album, especially the use of trumpets, that from here it becomes true hallmark of Death sound at this stage in June.

A tandem 'almost' perfect

Probably if I had to pick a masterpiece in the long history of Death in June, I'd 'Brown Book' , 'Rose Clouds of Holocaust' and 'But What Ends When the Symbols Shatter? " , but in a spiritual journey into the universe of Douglas P. particular-and in this case, also of David Tibet, "" The World That Summer 'would certainly be one of the first rooms.

- RECOMMENDATION OF THE WEEK:

Diamanda Galás - 'Defixiones, Will And Testament' (2003)

long time ago that the carrier one of the most wondrous voices ever heard is an accomplished artist recognized in diverse areas of culture. Later this month finally released his eagerly awaited new work 'Guilty Guilty Guilty' . His previous work was this 'Defixiones'.

'Defixiones, Will And Testament' is a shocking tribute to the disappeared, tortured and killed in the genocide Armenian, Syrian and Greek perpetrated in the name of Turkish nationalism between 1914 and 1923. A song of barbarism and cruelty of the modern world. One way trip through the evil in its fullest, both the seat of victim and the executioner. But do not get confused, is not that bad aesthetically idealized and almost glorified by artificial icons of the 'dark' as Marilyn Manson but the most explicit and bloody embodiment of the dark side of human beings. Diamanda Galás

uses his prodigious vocal cords and his 'terrifying' skill at the piano to move to the hidden corners of humanity. An uncomfortable journey and reminds us awareness of these historical passages forgotten, before which we can not but blush to boast of belonging to a genre capable of such atrocities.

This uses the texts of different authors in different languages, including César Vallejo Mexican or German Paul Celan, as a testimony to the perverse duality of man, executioner and victim, "the two sides of a coin, using as a backdrop to the brooding, dark folklore of Europe that takes decades to escape his own demons.

His throaty voice, incredibly expressive and poignant and gloomy piano melodies have gone through the grimy recesses of human existence for more than a quarter century. From trilogy 'Mask of Red Death' dedicated to AIDS and hypocrisy of the Catholic Church (his brother was HIV positive and died in the late 80), which stage reached in the San Juan Cathedral in New York using biblical texts to attack the Catholic institution, has gone through so raw and direct the best expressions of suffering, despair, injustice and human baseness.

Two words, deliciously scrotumtightening, in all its breadth. Listening to Diamanda removed at a stroke awareness and frivolous this romantic conception of death and evil. I spit violently to the harsh reality. And the truth hurts, as if each verse recited by Galás out a knife soaked in acid.

-RECOMENDACIÓN DE LA SEMANA:

VV. AA. - "Sacred War" (1990)

En 1990, el sello germano-británico Gymnastic Records , currently Chrom Records - released a bizarre compilation that is totally out of his usual. Gymnastic both as Chrom Records have been editing the work of Deine Lakaien -and-side projects and other bands of cut-mail as Distain! Stendal Blast or . However, on this occasion he ventured to a compilation made by bands much less known and affordable.

From struts neofolk and industrial primitive (NON , Death in June and Sol Invictus ), the old-school EBM with a touch bizarre ( Yeth Mae) to proposals closer to the post-punk as Mephisto Waltz and Savage Republic, through personal experiments Rozz Williams ( Premature Ejaculation ) and Eva O ( superheroines .) Special mention deserves the classic recitation of Anton LaVey . A histrionic satanist prayer that serves as icing for the album and a perfect prologue to the future theme.

- RECOMMENDATION OF THE WEEK:

Faun - "Totem" (2007)

Rarely is so gratifying and inspiring the discovery of a new group to these point in the film. But these Germans are a clear example. Faun boast an extensive musical training in his short but productive career. Four albums in just five years are its seal of quality.

'Totem' is its latest review and I think the more elaborate of all. Faun's music brings together several centuries of folklore in different regions of the world. Play your music takes us back to different periods in remote parts of Europe, Africa or the Middle East. The implementation of the wide range of instruments used in music is totally manual and real, something that certainly is very welcome in these times of emulators and synthetic overdose.

His concerts promise to be an unforgettable experience. Maybe not as stressful as the holidays and Corvus Corax, but surely a very special atmosphere. A privilege for those who are able to see them this weekend in Barcelona.

Dog Grooming Benefits

presents Armageddon Echos: Nit Medieval Folk 2008 [Barcelona]

Although drip band scene in Spain is rather limited, we are having better luck lately, "is even more reduced the influx of folk groups and derivatives. As an appetizer for the delicacies that are scheduled in the coming months ( Madrid LeBlanc, Laibach, Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, Spiritual Front ... ) becomes the 3 rd edition of the Nit Medieval-Folk in Pallejà (Barcelona) the Saturday February 23 .

To celebrate such an important date, the program this week [18: FEB: 08] will be partly devoted to the 3 bands that hosts the festival, though not too well known in the scene, they are pleasantly recommended.

Support the scene! March on, friends! ****

The Moon and the Nightspirit

The Moon and the Nightspirit was formed in 2003 by Agnes and Mihaly. It is a mystical journey through the world of dreams and beauty, are forgotten by modern man. A journey inspired by pagan fables, music folk of the old Hungary and nature itself.

-RECOMMENDATION OF THE WEEK:

Kirlian Camera - 'Schmerz' (1992 - 2007)

Since its inception in 1977, the Italians Kirlian Camera, initially called Suicide Commando - , have forged a strong and enviable track record over three decades. Despite the frequent lineup changes, the genius of Angelo Bergamini has always been to give the best of himself.

Emilia Angelo Bergamini and Jacono (which would place Elena Fossi in 2002) to mid 90

'Schmerz' , originally released in 1992 but reprinted and expanded in 1995 and 2007, is undoubtedly one of his most complete and for me personally, the most prominent. A low magnetic path electric atmosphere, cold and ethereal ( 'Heldenplatz', 'Twilight Fields' ) neoclassical passages ( 'Krematorium' ) and some appreciative approach to folk ( 'Der Tote Liebnecht', 'Raindome' .) Essential.

Kirlian Camera - 'Raindome'

Women In Tight Girdles

Calva y Nada: heart throbs, throbs! Playlist

Calva y Nada is a curious German project that began in 1990 the result of a restless mind, and somewhat Teutonic upset, "nicknamed thicket. Calva y Nada kept some continuity with his previous des Willens Glatze -in fact, 50% of the group's unusual name comes from Glatze , 'bald' in German.

From their first LP 'THE Wicked Pesto take my wig' would make clear that it would not be fodder for taggers uncomfortable. A very personal style, and to some extent, precarious, halfway between the EBM of the time and Industrial rhythmic and experimental first Laibach. Another peculiarity of Calva y Nada are his lyrics, not because of the depth and refined literary character but a new sign of the fondness of the Germans and the English language, although more for its rhythm than its actual meaning (as demonstrated years ago Les Liasons Dangereuses or DAF).

That first LP was succeeded by several others, among which worth mentioning 'Happy Days' , which gave them some notoriety in the EBM scene, so popular during those early nineties, the strange EP' Die Katze im Sack 'with its unusual Peret minimalist versions of Bob Dylan and -yes, as read, and his next two long, somewhat mediocre 'heart throbs throbs' thicket, which he dedicated to his wife and ' Das Böse macht ein Gesicht freundliches ' (' Evil shows his softer side '), pubic in 1996.

Mass attendance last concert (Leipzig - Wave Gotik Treffen 1998)

Each work had a particular destination and the most unexpected. 'The Wicked Pesto take my wig' was the story of an Italo Calvino sent to Spain sixteenth century to undermine the strong Catholic Church. 'Happy Days' intended as a smart response to the foot of sampling and lack of originality of the EBM scene. 'Monologue eines Baumes' figured it was a trip over the life of a tree, from its source in nature until further processing at a table, immaterial and empty of life. And 'heart throbs, throbs! " apart from a dedication to women in thicket, intended to be a breath of encouragement to continue wandering through the gray and globalizing world in which we live, our hearts still beating in the chaos of humanity today.

Perhaps the legacy of this bizarre German formation is rather limited, but its originality within the homogenizing scene EBM / New Beat of the time is undoubted. portals 'Rascheln' , 'Without Delay' or 'Los Santos Inocentes' are as fruitful musical legacy of those years. Thicket tried to reflect his vision of the world through music from a creative perspective, aware and full of irony, and deserves more recognition than it is among the followers of Industrial and Electronic music.

Best Way To Get A Brazilian

Commando Suzie: gray colored ballad

Commando Suzie came in 2006 from an accidental. According to themselves, a concert of Catalan Tarantula returned them inspiration and what would be anecdotal home recordings became his letter to his friends Punch Records.

Since the enigmatic 'I want to be like Joe Twilight (dedicated to the Tarantula keyboard player) came to the ears of his friends Demian (Ô Paradis ) and Novy Svet , the path of Raul and Ella (the Command integrates duo) goes in crescendo. After the 7 "Ô Paradis shared, including the ironic part, sharp and critical sectors of the Neofolk scene 'The Little Drummer Boy' finally released their first CD 'poor boy' .

An album that contains 11 coplillas dark. magnetic ironic. With a minimalistic electro background and an atmosphere dirty but addictive 'poor boy' is a premiere live up to their label mates Novy Svet and O Paradis-both on the album, as well as other essential Thomas Nola et son Orchestre or Ait! .

The Polish webzine Apostazja published a brief but illustrative interview with Barcelona duo. Suzie will surely command a place in the Armageddon Echos.

-RECOMMENDATION OF THE WEEK: Bain

Wolfkind - 'Music for Lovers & Gangsters' (2005)

Bain is undoubtedly Wolfkind the most interesting project and has undertaken few juicy Australian Lounge Lothario ( Novo Homo, Fragola Nera ). Known for being a regular in productions of Der Blutharsch , is a sort of crooner decadent and addicted to evil side of life. A cross between Seventies rock of Jim Morrison and pellets of plasma cells that deranged minds of people like Bukowski or Burroughs . Maintains a nihilistic and destructive perspective close to that of figures like Lydia Lunch or Nick Cave, but with a distinctive irresistible.

Pour yourself a martini, or what you like, change the contrast of your life to black and white and sit quietly listening to his music. Not leave you indifferent.

-RECOMMENDATION OF THE WEEK: VV

. AA. - "Mia Runa" (2007)

This is possibly one of the most curious collections I have ever had news. In 2005, Mia Runa Prescher, daughter of the owners of the Austrian label Steinklang Industries served one year of life. And to celebrate the anniversary, their parents had the ingenious idea to give his shoot-lucky she an elaborate collection of lullabies and fairy tales interpetados by his friends, at the same time, label-mates. Even the very shy Mia works with babbling in some bars.

With this unusual and original point of departure comes 'Mia Runa', a double album with 30 unreleased cuts by artists as prominent and essential as Allerseelen , A Challenge of Honour , Hekate , Derniere Volonte Werkraum or in addition to other proposals less strong but quite promising as Graumahd or Satanico Theatre.

worth it for any fan of the scene Industrial and Neo-Folk you want to know from a different perspective to some of its more appreciated. Does not disappoint.

And if the anecdotal aspect of this release was not enough to these lines include the luxurious artwork surrounding the CDs, always meticulously detailed in this style-was the work of the lucky birthday girl's grandmother. Following the publication of 'Mia Runa ', la felicitación it extendió a los Hijos del resto de amigos que colaboraron, entre ellos el de Michael Moynihan aka Blood Axis .

-RECOMENDACIÓN DE LA SEMANA:

Life's Decay - 'Szilentia' (2007)

En estos turbios tiempos que corren se hace cada vez más difícil aportar algo nuevo al escenario musical. Y if we stick to the scene say it's almost dark work of genius. Surely

minds that are behind this French training than those of two musical geniuses, but meteoric career -4 album in five years, have shown that polishing is still possible to go humbly own style and create pieces and worked as meritorious as this 'Szilentia' . While his previous CDs sinned a certain monotony and too close to potential debtors ( Kirlian Camera, Rise and Fall of a Decade or Die Form) in its latest issue, we show that this hyperactivity has given them maturity and experience to move forward with energy.

'Szilentia' is their most accessible, but also more elaborate. But yes, do not leave home: powerful martial bases, some dyes neoclassical arrangements and really fit, especially the attractive and sometimes poignant Alea voice, which seems the perfect complement for the claustrophobic compositions Lyktvasst .

Lyk and Alea

The other side of the group is his artistic side. Lyktvasst has designed the artwork and graphic image of the band since its inception. Dubbed retro-luxury ', is a style that oozes magnetic fetish-noir aroma reminds his countrymen both Die Form or essential Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, albeit a bit more innocent.

'Gloria' was one of the featured cuts from his previous CD 'Lysselia'. I am sure that in the very near future will have much to say.
