- RECOMMENDATION OF THE WEEK:

Faun - "Totem" (2007)

Rarely is so gratifying and inspiring the discovery of a new group to these point in the film. But these Germans are a clear example. Faun boast an extensive musical training in his short but productive career. Four albums in just five years are its seal of quality.

'Totem' is its latest review and I think the more elaborate of all. Faun's music brings together several centuries of folklore in different regions of the world. Play your music takes us back to different periods in remote parts of Europe, Africa or the Middle East. The implementation of the wide range of instruments used in music is totally manual and real, something that certainly is very welcome in these times of emulators and synthetic overdose.

His concerts promise to be an unforgettable experience. Maybe not as stressful as the holidays and Corvus Corax, but surely a very special atmosphere. A privilege for those who are able to see them this weekend in Barcelona.

presents Armageddon Echos: Nit Medieval Folk 2008 [Barcelona]

Although drip band scene in Spain is rather limited, we are having better luck lately, "is even more reduced the influx of folk groups and derivatives. -RECOMMENDATION OF THE WEEK:

Kirlian Camera - 'Schmerz' (1992 - 2007)

Since its inception in 1977, the Italians Kirlian Camera, initially called Suicide Commando - , have forged a strong and enviable track record over three decades. Despite the frequent lineup changes, the genius of Angelo Bergamini has always been to give the best of himself.

Emilia Angelo Bergamini and Jacono (which would place Elena Fossi in 2002) to mid 90

'Schmerz' , originally released in 1992 but reprinted and expanded in 1995 and 2007, is undoubtedly one of his most complete and for me personally, the most prominent. A low magnetic path electric atmosphere, cold and ethereal ( 'Heldenplatz', 'Twilight Fields' ) neoclassical passages ( 'Krematorium' ) and some appreciative approach to folk ( 'Der Tote Liebnecht', 'Raindome' .) Essential.

Women In Tight Girdles

Calva y Nada: heart throbs, throbs! Playlist

Calva y Nada is a curious German project that began in 1990 the result of a restless mind, and somewhat Teutonic upset, "nicknamed thicket. Calva y Nada kept some continuity with his previous des Willens Glatze -in fact, 50% of the group's unusual name comes from Glatze , 'bald' in German.

From their first LP 'THE Wicked Pesto take my wig' would make clear that it would not be fodder for taggers uncomfortable. A very personal style, and to some extent, precarious, halfway between the EBM of the time and Industrial rhythmic and experimental first Laibach. Another peculiarity of Calva y Nada are his lyrics, not because of the depth and refined literary character but a new sign of the fondness of the Germans and the English language, although more for its rhythm than its actual meaning (as demonstrated years ago Les Liasons Dangereuses or DAF).

That first LP was succeeded by several others, among which worth mentioning 'Happy Days' , which gave them some notoriety in the EBM scene, so popular during those early nineties, the strange EP' Die Katze im Sack 'with its unusual Peret minimalist versions of Bob Dylan and -yes, as read, and his next two long, somewhat mediocre 'heart throbs throbs' thicket, which he dedicated to his wife and ' Das Böse macht ein Gesicht freundliches ' (' Evil shows his softer side '), pubic in 1996.

Mass attendance last concert (Leipzig - Wave Gotik Treffen 1998)

Each work had a particular destination and the most unexpected. 'The Wicked Pesto take my wig' was the story of an Italo Calvino sent to Spain sixteenth century to undermine the strong Catholic Church. 'Happy Days' intended as a smart response to the foot of sampling and lack of originality of the EBM scene. 'Monologue eines Baumes' figured it was a trip over the life of a tree, from its source in nature until further processing at a table, immaterial and empty of life. And 'heart throbs, throbs! " apart from a dedication to women in thicket, intended to be a breath of encouragement to continue wandering through the gray and globalizing world in which we live, our hearts still beating in the chaos of humanity today.

Perhaps the legacy of this bizarre German formation is rather limited, but its originality within the homogenizing scene EBM / New Beat of the time is undoubted. portals 'Rascheln' , 'Without Delay' or 'Los Santos Inocentes' are as fruitful musical legacy of those years. Thicket tried to reflect his vision of the world through music from a creative perspective, aware and full of irony, and deserves more recognition than it is among the followers of Industrial and Electronic music.

Calva y Nada (1990-1998)

why we dedicate a separate entrance.

Best Way To Get A Brazilian

Commando Suzie: gray colored ballad

Commando Suzie came in 2006 from an accidental. According to themselves, a concert of Catalan Tarantula returned them inspiration and what would be anecdotal home recordings became his letter to his friends Punch Records.

Since the enigmatic 'I want to be like Joe Twilight (dedicated to the Tarantula keyboard player) came to the ears of his friends Demian (Ô Paradis ) and Novy Svet , the path of Raul and Ella (the Command integrates duo) goes in crescendo. After the 7 "Ô Paradis shared, including the ironic part, sharp and critical sectors of the Neofolk scene 'The Little Drummer Boy' finally released their first CD 'poor boy' .

An album that contains 11 coplillas dark. magnetic ironic. With a minimalistic electro background and an atmosphere dirty but addictive 'poor boy' is a premiere live up to their label mates Novy Svet and O Paradis-both on the album, as well as other essential Thomas Nola et son Orchestre or Ait! .

The Polish webzine Apostazja published a brief but illustrative interview with Barcelona duo. Suzie will surely command a place in the Armageddon Echos.
